Cause of electrical box explosion in Dominican Republic
The cause of the explosion is currently unknown. 28 people were killed and around 59 were injured, including two firefighters who suffered from smoke inhalation. In addition 4 buildings were destroyed and 9 were damaged. A massive power outage struck the Dominican Republic Monday morning, disrupting electricity across several provinces and parts of the capital after a major failure in the national grid. This is the second major explosion in the town, as an arms depot. On November 11, 2025, the Dominican Republic went dark.
